2017 Italian-American of the Year Reception
Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce – Join us for a night of fun and food to celebrate the 2017 Italian-American of the Year - Sal Felice! Fee: $20 per person (payable at the door) Questions? Call the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce at 631-207-1000 for further information. _________________ About the honoree: Sal Felice was born in Brookhaven Hospital on April 1, 1966 to William and Rose Marie (Spitale) Felice. Sal lived most of his childhood on Roe Boulevard with his parents and siblings, William and Kristen Felice Blumengarten. Sal’s paternal grandparents, Louis and Marie (Beck) Felice lived on Main Street until the 1950s then moved to Lakeland Avenue where they raised four children (Louis, Kathleen, William and Kenny). Sal’s maternal grandparents, Salvatore and Frances Spitale, were born in Italy. They came to the United States and settled in New Jersey then moved to Patchogue to raise their children (Rose Marie and Larry) on Amity Street. Sal graduated from Patchogue-Medford High School in 1984. Upon graduation, Sal went to work for his father at his gas station/repair shop, on the corner of Montauk Highway and Waverly Avenue, along with his brother Bill until 1992. At that time Sal’s parents moved to Florida. He then went into business with his Uncle Ken. They opened Sal & Ken Felice’s Auto Repair on Montauk Highway in Blue Point and have been there for 25 years. The Felice family has been tied to the Patchogue community for more than 100 years. Sal is quite proud of his strong family roots and has carried on many traditions his family members of past generations have done, such as owning a gas station/repair shop like his grandfather, father, Uncle Richie and Cousin Dick, Cousin Donald, Cousin Patrick, Uncle Paulie, and Uncle Pat. He enjoys being an active participant in the Village (planning board and Trustee) like his Grandfather Louis and his Uncle Paulie, who were both Trustees. Most of all, Sal is very happy that he has had an opportunity to raise his family in a town that he loves and has such a sense of pride for. Sal married Lisa (Geisen) who was a 1985 Patchogue-Medford graduate and is now a teacher in the Smithtown School District. They have lived on the same block for 23 years and have raised two girls, Kristiana (22) and Isabel (18). Sal is extremely excited and honored to have been chosen as the Italian-American of the Year. He is very grateful to the community for this honor and blessed for his friends and family.

BTDC Chairman's Club
Brookhaven Town Democratic Committee – Did you know that the turnout in most local elections is under 20%? If that happens this November, we will not take back our congressional seat in 2018 or our country in 2020 from the right wing fanatics that have taken over. The Brookhaven Town Democratic Committee is the one existing structure that can bring back transparent, open government. All of the protests, rallies, and lamenting on social media will have no meaning unless we begin the process here and now to elect local Democrats who share our values. Electing just one or two won't do it...we have to make sure that the rising tide of democracy lifts all boats. But we need funding to be able to elect all of our democratic candidates. We would like to invite you to attend our chairman's club dinner on August 1st from 6 pm to 9 pm at Windows on the Lake in Lake Ronkonkoma. We are delighted to have County Executive Steve Bellone as our guest.
