Sunday morning, after breakfast at the motel, we will depart the Baymont Inn & Suites Frisco Lake Dillon at 9:00 AM and proceed over an old railroad grade to Boreas Pass and Como and then on to Fairplay for lunch at South Park Brewing. Boulder Running Company- Littleton – Join us for our Saturday morning group run. We welcome all ages, abilities, kids, and dogs for this walk and run. This run offers 2 different distances to take part in. There is a 5k route, with the potential for you to add on extra milage. Volunteer to Increase Safety in High-Risk Homes w/ Project Helping
Project Helping – Red Cross rallied an army of volunteers and launched the Home Fire Campaign in 2014. Since then, they've accomplished so much: 235 lives saved, 840,455 smoke alarms installed, 349,548 households made safer 810,742 youth reached through campaign! Red Cross volunteers and partners will install 100,000 free smoke alarms in high risk neighborhoods nationwide. Sound the Alarm installation and fire safety events will take place in more than 100 communities across the country, providing a lifesaving service in their quest to reduce death and injury from home fires. WHAT WILL WE BE DOING? Register to volunteer for ONE of the following roles: Volunteer Smoke Alarm Installer: Installs smoke alarms in homes during the canvassing event. National Public Lands Day Trail Construction in Buena Vista
Colorado Mountain Club – What better way to celebrate our public lands as an integral part of Colorado's unique identity than by improving access to them! This awesome service project is part of a larger partnership between The Town of BV, local stakeholder groups, the BLM, and CMC to improve recreational opportunities for local residents and the many visitors of the Upper Arkansas Valley. The South Bridge Trail will add to the overall function of the Midland Hill Trail System by providing an experience appropriate for beginner mountain bikers, hikers, trail runners, and equestrians, and creating several new loop options with the existing trails. Improve Baby Haven Child Care Serving Low-Income Families w/Project Helping
Project Helping – The Baby Haven values diversity and serves families affiliated with the ARTS (Addiction Research and Treatment Services) programs as well as families in the community. Children and their families are at the heart of the Baby Haven program. Volunteers are needed to assist with painting and cleaning that will bring Baby Haven up to meet the Colorado Shines rating standard for child care centers. This project piggybacks on the hard work Project Helping volunteers did last year, resulting in the Baby Haven earning a high quality rating! All the tools and supplies needed to complete this project will be provided, we just need some amazing volunteers. Also this is one of the few times each year kiddos under 18 years old can come help out at the Baby Haven – so bring the whole family!
