Market to the Feds (And Leverage Their Data)
College of DuPage Center for Entrepreneurship – Thanks to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), federal agencies must perform in specific ways in order to follow the rules they must abide by. Purchases over $25,000 must be publically advertised. All purchases made over $3,000 must be publically available to allow the American people to know what their government is spending money on. What does this all mean to you and your small business? We can help you understand how to use the government’s own data to help you make offers to the government that are closer to their expectations and preferences. By understanding what rules federal contracting officers must follow, and using their data to tailor your bids, you demonstrate that your company truly understand their needs and will better provide the goods and services they are looking to purchase.

Intro to Exporting & New Technologies
College of DuPage Center for Entrepreneurship – Do you want to experience the benefits of exporting your products or services, but aren't sure where to begin? This one and a half hour program will help you get started. Learning objectives: Learn how to use the newest tools and technology to find and test international markets before market entry. Determine your company’s readiness to take advantage of new export markets. Discover how to overcome barriers and risks, and much more. A few things to think about: In 2005-09, U.S. small and midsized manufacturers that exported grew by 37 percent, while non-exporting companies saw a seven percent decrease in growth. 97 percent of U.S. Small and Midsized businesses that sell on eBay also export via eBay. For the first time, small size can be synonymous with global scale. Companies no longer need scale to trade; they need trade to scale. Come join Zachary Person - a 15 year international business veteran and the International Trade Center Program Manager at COD - for an engaging and informative overview of the key tools you need to succeed on a global scale. Click on "tickets" to register for the workshop.
