One of the oldest national arms dealers’ organizations, CADA currently concentrates on the greater Chicagoland area but has also held shows in New England, Florida, and Denver. The upcoming show at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton IL, will feature some of the best-known and respected dealers in collector-quality guns, swords and militaria from across the country. Though not as large as some shows, CADA’s shows are highly respected for the quality of their offerings. As a result, our shows attract serious collectors of quality collectibles. Indeed, comments such as “It’s almost like being in a museum!” are often heard from attendees. Finally, CADA.s shows have also earned the respect of the authorities in an era when “gun” is all too often considered a four-letter word. We always invite the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to take a table at our shows and they’ve frequently accepted, passing out literature and answering questions about gun ownership and transfers. And we’ve also been told that the Illinois State Police consider CADA shows to be the cleanest and most responsible in the state. Membership in CADA is limited to dealers with stellar reputations; Unethical or illegal behavior is not tolerated. We in CADA pride ourselves on the quality of our membership and the quality of our shows All Federal, State and local laws and regulations must be followed. Illinois FOID card (or out-of-state driver’s license) must be presented to handle any firearm or modern ammunition. All cartridge guns must be tied. No exceptions. If you cut a tie for a customer re-tie it immediately afterward. All detachable magazines must be removed. No loaded guns of any description. No loaded carry guns allowed in the building(s) No loose modern ammo. Package it, Box it, Bag it or keep it under glass. Antique and collectable ammo is of course allowed. All tables must be covered. No photography allowed without prior arrangement with CADA and the subject owner. No early pick-up/pack-up. The public expects us to respect the stated show hours.
