Wellness on the Water: Your Spiritual Connection to Wellness
Roswell Park Cancer Institute – The spiritual body is your connection to energy. For some, this may be more closely tied to religion than spirituality. For others, it could have more to do with the atoms in the body or the quantum energy that science refers to. Whichever way you choose to view the source of your energy is perfect. This is why a daily spiritual or religious practice is so important to maintain this open connection. Join Roswell Park's Director of Pastoral Care, Beth Lenegan, PhD, to learn how to achieve a state of harmony between each of the layers of our being by developing our intuition and spirituality along with our mind and emotions.

What is Your Spiritual Connection to Wellness?

For others, it could have more to do with the atoms in the body or the quantum energy that science refers to. Whichever way you choose to view the source of your energy is perfect. Beth Lenegan, PhD, and Director of Pastoral Care at Roswell Park explains why a daily spiritual or religious practice is so important to maintain this open connection. To be in a state of harmony between each of the layers of our being, we need to develop our intuition and spirituality as much as we do our mind and emotions to create a solid physical foundation.

A Midsummer Night's Draw
Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center – A MID SUMMER NIGHT'S DRAW Live Drawing Rally & Silent Auction Wednesday, July 26, 2017 7pm Asbury Hall @ Babeville 341 Delaware Avenue Buffalo NY Admission is $5. Cash bar. DJ Undersound Since February 2012, 396 drawings have been created by artists within a live, 45-minute time span as part of Hallwalls twice-yearly drawing rally events, A Mid Winter’s Draw and a Mid Summer Night’s Draw. Participating artists have been invited by the visual arts curator and any drawing rally event illustrates a broad panoply of styles and approaches from artists across Western New York. These special events are organized for the maximum satisfaction of the art-curious and art-buying public, who can attend and watch a work spring to life upon a blank sheet of archival paper. Some of the audience comes merely to watch the exciting proceedings as 36 artists draw across two rounds of drawing. Others come to not only watch, but to bid on work and leave with a fresh addition to their collection. Drawings are bid upon following each drawing round in a 30 minute silent auction, with opening bids beginning at $39. Some drawings draw furious bidding and may sell for a few hundred dollars, but the final bid amounts for all our drawing rallies indicates that it is not at all impossible to procure a work for $150 or $75 or even for the opening bid of $39, should you be the only person whose fancy was captured by a particular piece. From a diverse range of artists drawing with diverse media, you have 36 opportunities to encounter the drawing of your dreams. This is a timed event. Projected timers on the stage will always tell you how long remains in a drawing round AND how long remains in a bidding round. 7:15 to 8pm • first round of drawing 8:15 to 9pm • second round of drawing Each drawing rally includes both artists who have participated previously AND a portion of brand new participants. No themes are indicated and artists may draw whatever they like. For summer 2017, the following artists will be participating and producing brand new work that may just end up in YOUR personal collection: Bruce Adams Kathie Aspaas Adrian Bertolone Bradley Butler Tricia Butski Nancy Treherne Craig Denton Crawford Shane Durgee El Yames Patrick Foran Fotini Galanes Bobby Griffiths Michael Hanna Cody Hughes Terri Katz Kasimov Pat Kewley Iris Kirkwood Elizabeth Larrabee Sarah Liddell Rosemary Lyons Pedro Manuel Candace Masters Ruby Merritt MJ Myers Esther Neisen Cassandra Ott Alicia Paolucci Lin Price Katherine Sehr Rachel Shelton Mizin Shin Mark Snyder Allen C.
