Coloring Night at the Library

Carson Valley Turkey Trot
Kaia FIT Carson – Hello Kaia Tribe! We are so excited to share with you that Main Street Minden is hosting the first ever CARSON VALLEY TURKEY TROT! This is a 5K Fun Run/Walk that will be held on Thanksgiving Day starting and ending at Minden Park. The proceeds from the race entries benefit Carson Valley Community Food Closet and Douglas Animal Welfare Group. Kaia Fit Carson and Minden will support this event and provide an aid station, lead the warm up, and form a running team! We are seeking runners and volunteers and would love to have you join us in whatever way you can for this event! Our team's name is "HOT to Trot". The cost to join our team is $12.50/per person. Please comment here if you wish to sign up or call Gulya at 260-450-5510 call/text. Details: The run will begin at 8:30am on Thursday, November 23rd. Registration will begin at 7:30 in Minden Park with pre-registration days to happen the week before Thanksgiving around town. The regular cost for entry is $25 for Adults (age 12+), $10 for child (4-11), $75 for Family of four, $125 for a business team of 6-10 people. You can register by mail or drop off at the Food Closet, the registration form attached to this email. Or you can register online here https://www.raceentry.com/races/carson-valley-turkey-trot/2017/register For interested Volunteers: We are seeking volunteers of all ages (children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult) to work at Kaia Booth. Do you have young adults in your house who are required to volunteer by their HS? Send them to us! They can help with overall event set up, registration at the event, crossing guards, and event clean up. The times and descriptions are as follows: Pre-event canvasing: We are hoping to put out flyers to the residences on our race route on November 16/17/18 to let people know that the run will be happening the following week. For those interested in helping with this, we would need volunteers for the after school hours to go around to put flyers on doors on the streets where we will be running. Since the time is flexible, please contact if you are interested in this task. Event Set Up: on the 23rd from 6:00-8:00 am we need volunteers who can help us move road blocks into place, put up event tables and easy-ups in Minden Park, and make sure that we are all set for the day. Registration: from 7:00-9:00 we will need people to be on hand to help check people in for the race. Route monitors/Crossing Guards: 8:00-10:00 we will need people along the route to make sure that our runners are safe and that there is nothing on the course. We will provide safety vests. Clean up: While runners are out on the course, we can start to tidy at the park and prep for finishers. Shift will be from 9:00-11:00

Carson Valley Community Food Closet – Get your gobble on! Join us for this great event on Thanksgiving morning! The first ever Carson Valley Turkey Trot is a 5K Fun Run/Walk, and medals will be awarded to the fastest finishers in each age category. We will also be awarding prizes to those who have fun with it, and come in costume or dress as a team. Feel free to bring your LEASHED dog, to accompany you as long as your furry friend is dog and child friendly. This event is hosted by Carson Valley Community Food Closet, Douglas Animal Welfare Group, and Main Street Minden. Proceeds from the event benefit the Food Closet and DAWG.
