Mindfulness Yoga and Breath Half Day Retreat
Davidson Yoga Therapy – This is an event inspired by my recent post on childhood adversity, how it leads to adult disease and what you can do about it. **** Unplug. For real. You can do it and you don't have to climb a mountain to see the guru or afford a week at the beach. This silent retreat will jump start you! And it's just minutes away at beautiful historic Latta Plantation Nature Preserve. On July 15th from 7:00am - 11:00am you will experience mindfulness of sound, sight and smell, trail walking meditation and mindful yoga. At various points along the route we will pause for breathing therapy lessons for various states of mind (one of the lessons will be on breath for cooling - it may be warm that day!). Participants should get a good night's rest beforehand. Avoid all media prior to arrival - and any other social and family obligations if possible. Treat your time as sacred and personal. Treat it like the beginning of your new life. We meet at 6:45, before it gets too warm, at the head of the Beech Trail (see map). Dress for hiking. Wear a hat and bring bug spray, water bottle(s), a towel or blanket you can carry with you to sit on. Bring a snack if you tend to get low blood sugar. I'll provide recorded versions of all the practices we do that day. $40 You must reserve your spot in advance by calling 980-322-4518. This is going to be really special folks. I've led hundreds of these kinds of hikes and there's just no church or 'high' like it.
