Gratitude and Mindfulness Skills for Youth
Center for Spiritual Living Greater Dayton – All young people ages 6 to teens are invited to develop life skills of: gratitude, mindfulness, intention setting, affirmations, and developing positive attitudes. All youth should arrive by 10:30 am and be seated with the adults. Youth will be called to attend the youth program and move to the youth classrooms with their teachers. Children birth to 6 are welcome to participate in our childcare available during service, or remain in the Sanctuary with their family. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our youth programs are participating in our 2017 theme: Values Based Spiritual Living They will focus on the same topics as the main service, in age appropriate ways. In months with 5 Sundays, (January, April, July, October and December) our youth will remain in the Sanctuary for special Family Sundays. Our youth will participate in special parts of the service such as candle lighting service and pulpit! Familes wanting to participate in the service need to arrive at 10:15 on Family Sunday.

Superfund Prayer Tour: N. Dayton
Green Chalice: Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) – The National Religious Partnership for the Environment and Creation Justice Ministries will co-host a Superfund Prayer Tour in Dayton. Dinner will follow. The tour will include a briefing on several of the Superfund sites in Dayton followed by a visit to each site for prayer and reflection. Please join us for this important prayer event as we highlight the need to protect communities from toxic pollution and urge Congress to fully fund the EPA and its Superfund Program. West Carrollton Pirate Choir – The West Carrollton Vocal Boosters will once again be hosting this popilar annual event. Performances from the 6th grade chorus, 7th grade treble chorus, middle school mixed chorus, symphonic choir, chamber choir, Vocal Expressions, and Mutiny will be featured. Center for Spiritual Living Greater Dayton – You will come away from this workshop excited about your life and how you are going to stay on track to create the reality you want. This workshop will help you answer these fundamental questions: ** How do you figure out what you want? What are your priorities and values? ** How do you decide what action you need to take to start creating the things you desire? ** How do you take charge of the voice inside your head so you can support yourself in staying focused and on track? ** How do you best apply control over the “image making part of your brain” so you can use your imagination to support having what you want? In this workshop you will learn how to weave the tools of choice together so you really experience how YOU can take charge of your life and move to your dreams. Fee $25 for one $40 for two. Mabon Gathering & Potluck (Sabbat)
Chalice of the Willow (CUUPS) – Sabbats are Pagan holidays & are structured around the Wheel of the Year, an annual cycle of the seasons. They include the Solstices, Equinoxes and Cross Quarters. They are known by various names in the Pagan community. Meditation - 6 week Class for Beginners
Center for Spiritual Living Greater Dayton – “I can't meditate." "I can't figure out what meditation is." "I can’t blank my mind out" Or Ready to make meditation a lifestyle choice? This class is for you! Come have fun exploring meditation and finding what works for YOU! This 6-week course is an introduction to 8 styles of meditation focused on beginners and moves, step by step, through the powerful tool of meditation. Discover what meditation can do for you. Determine which one(s) work for your personality and lifestyle. Each week is very experiential, with various forms of meditation that the student can then take with them for a richer practice at home. You can sign up by either: ~ Commenting on this event ~ Contacting the office (Mon-Thurs 10 am to 5:30 pm) ~ Signing up on the Sign Up sheet on the bulletin board by the Welcome Center in the Sanctuary ~ Sendning a private message to our facebook page. Classes meet in our Adult Classroom at 4100 Benfield Drive just off Stroop near Marshall in Kettering. Class is suitable for teens about 16 years and older. Two books are needed for the class, and are to be purchased (borrowed?) on your own: An Easy Guide to Meditation by Roy Eugene Davis (available on kindle free) Journey of Awakening by Ram Dass available in print and on audible Cost of class: $180 Weekly payment plans are available, or you can pay in full or break it into a couple of payments. Payment can be made with cash, check or credit card and will be handled at the beginning of class. You are able to drop in the first night of class if you forget to sign up. Just know that we many not have a class workbook ready for you. If so, you will be able to pick your workbook up on the following Wednesday after 12:30 pm.
