Theatre Frisco – Audition Notice Theatre Frisco NON EQUITY CRIMES OF THE HEART by Beth Henley Director – Shane Hurst A dark comedy set in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, where the three Magrath sisters have gathered to await news of the family patriarch, their grandfather, who is living out his last hours in the local hospital. Lenny, the oldest sister, is unmarried at thirty and facing diminishing marital prospects; Meg, the middle sister, who quickly outgrew Hazlehurst, is back after a failed singing career on the West Coast; while Babe, the youngest, is out on bail after having shot her husband in the stomach. Dates: Sunday, July 23, 1:30 – 5:00pm, Monday, July 24, from 7:00 – 10:00 pm, By appointment at the Black Box Theater located in the Frisco Discovery Center, 8004 N. Dallas Parkway, Frisco, TX 75034 off Cotton Gin Road east of the Dallas North Tollway. Characters: Lenny Magrath – Female 25-32: at the age of 30, she is the oldest of the three sisters; her sisters have forgotten her birthday, only adding to her feeling of rejection; is frustrated after years of carrying heavy burdens of responsibility; most recently, she has been caring for Old Granddaddy. Meg Magrath – Female 24-28: 27 years old, the middle sister; as an 11-year-old child, she discovered the body of their mother (and that of the family cat) following her suicide. Babe Botrelle – Female 19-24: 24 years old, the youngest Magrath sister; at the start of the play, she has shot her husband, Zackery, a powerful and wealthy lawyer. Chick Boyle – Female 24-32: 29 years old, the sisters' first cousin, a very demanding relative, extremely concerned about the community's opinion of her. Doc Boyle – Male 25-33: 30 years old, Meg's old boyfriend, is still known affectionately as "Doc," although his plans for a medical career stalled and eventually died after he was severely injured in Hurricane Camille. Barnette Lloyd – Male 25-30: 26 years old, Babe's lawyer, an ambitious, talented attorney, views Babe's case as a chance to exact his personal revenge on Zackery. Bring headshot and resume.
