SOM Distinguished Speaker: Alumni and MLive President Dan Gaydou
University of Michigan-Flint – Dan Gaydou earned his BBA from UM-Flint in 1973, and has since spent most of his career in the business of newspapers, and most recently, digital media. Gaydou is the President of MLive Media Group, the largest media company in Michigan—a career that began in 1975 when he answered a classified ad for the Flint Journal. In 2012, Gaydou faced the challenge of shifting the medium in which millions of readers received their news, from the traditional print medium to online content. Since this move, monthly digital readership has more than doubled from 6 million to 11 million. Gaydou’s life and career has been marked by successful innovation, leadership, and public service through fundraising and dedication to community. Gaydou will be speaking as a SOM Distinguished Speaker on November 29, 2017, in the Riverfront Center Atrium.
