Bushcraft Master Chef
Campcraft Outdoors – The first ever Bushcraft Master Chef Competition! LIMITED TO 10 SPOTS: $25 event registration 2 person team or individuals!!! Chef Support/Cheerleader Camper Fee: $5 at door Campcraft Outdoors will provide a Basic Pantry (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/articles/basic-pantry-101), 1 Bag Charcoal and Hardwood for cooking fires. You may bring Cast Iron, Aluminum, Copper or Steel cookware and/or cooking irons. NO Fuels, Propane or Gas Burners. Wood and/or Charcoal fires ONLY! Also bring your own utensils as needed. This is an elimination competition that will be sponsored with cash, prizes, glory and bragging rights. Eliminated chefs will get a second chance round and everyone will hang around to take part in the tasting! Round 1: Create a Signature Dish Home cooks will have 2 hours to create their own signature dish onsite. This is your shot to WOW the judges and prove you belong in the competition. You cannot prepare ANYTHING in advance and must bring your own ingredients/specialty spices not included in our pantry. The bottom 4 will be eliminated! Round 2: Technical Dish Chef "Cast Iron" Mike will demonstrate a technical cooking dish which our home cooks will have to replicate after watching a demonstration from memory and to the best of their ability. 90 Minutes will be alloted this round and all ingredients provided. The bottom 4 will be eliminated Round 3: Redemption The 8 Eliminated Home Cooks will take on a Dessert Challenge and create a signature dessert in a winner take take all round. This will be for 3rd place prize. Round 4: The Mystery Box The final 2 Home Cooks will go head to head in a Mystery Box Challenge. The best dish, wins the Bushcraft Master Chef Trophy and Prize Package.

Improbable Baubles Opening

Thanksgiving Day Buffet
Lake Cumberland Tourism-Somerset-Pulaski County CVB – Seventeen Kentucky State Resort Parks will serve the Thanksgiving Day buffet on Nov. 23, 2017. Kentucky State Parks will serve 2,000 pounds of turkey, 1,500 pounds of sweet potatoes, and 750 pounds of country ham. Additionally, 4,300 pieces of fried chicken, 1,300 pounds of roast beef, and 12,000 rolls will be served along with 600 pies, including pecan and pumpkin. The parks have hosted the Thanksgiving Day buffet for more than 40 years and typically serve around 10,000 guests. For starters, the buffet includes soups, cheeses, and salads. The menu features turkey, dressing, baked ham, carved roast beef, and fried chicken. Vegetables include old-fashioned candied yams, country-style green beans, and mashed potatoes with giblet gravy. The cost for the buffet is $19.50 plus tax (drink included) for adults, $9.50 for children ages 6-12, and free for children five and under. The buffet will be served starting at 11 a.m. and closing time will vary by park. Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park will be offering a reduced buffet and price. Home for the Holidays Train
Bluegrass Railroad Museum – Thanksgiving Saturday, come to the Museum!
