Come visit us at the First Magnitude Brewing Company and paint mini canvases for free, meet the local talented Artist, meet the local Owners, checkout the artwork and see what Painting with a Twist in Gainesville is all about. Lyssa Bowen - Local artist, Lyssa Bowen's, love of art is derived from the way that two people may not see the same piece in the same way. The same way two people may not feel the same looking at a sunset, which is why she chooses to paint beautiful scenes of nature that surround our town, from downtown Gainesville to each coast line of Florida. Using heavy body acrylics, Lyssa hopes to stir the peace within each of us. Brittany Ragland - Brittany is a local artist in the Gainesville area. She merges her love of pop-surrealism and illustration to create fantasy mixed media portraits. Although she has been doing commissioned portraits for the last few years, she has recently begun dedicating her time to developing a style that is uniquely her own. Carrie Martinez - Carrie is a self-taught visionary and surrealist artist, live performance painter, and muralist specializing in Goddess Art. Using acrylic paint, she creates dreamlike subjects embellished with timeless beauty and magic realism to stir the imagination and inspire the soul. Her lifelong interest in meditation, lucid dreaming, astronomy, and mysticism are the basis for her art, and she often includes symbolism to convey this exploration. Her studio is in Gainesville, Florida, where she lives with her husband and two sons. Together they are the owners of Visionary CrossFit, a combination gym, gallery, and studio space that encourages the transformation of mind, body, and spirit through fitness, art and music. Jenna Horner - the intention of her work is to encourage a dialogue about the beauty, complexity and mysterious nature of the natural world. She works as a multimedia artist and incorporates various vintage fabrics, paints, dead flowers and other media to build unique, highly textured surfaces. She thrives off bringing new life to old, unused materials and her hope is to evoke an emotional connection between the paintings and the viewer through different materials and nature inspired imagery. Curtis Whitman - Born and raised in Tampa, his love for Florida’s waterways and wildlife is expressed through his art. Curtis feels most at home underwater or paddling. He loves to share the feeling of deep connection to nature through watercolor paintings and underwater videos in order that he creates to inspire everyone to get outside and appreciate the beauty and abundance of wild Florida. A portion of every sale of his art goes to support protection of natural resources. Jade Di Marco - Jade is a mixed media artist currently studying at the University of Florida. Her work ranges from two dimensional to three dimensional and has been featured in the Spirit Lake at Suwannee Hulaween. Yadira Garcia - Our ancient ancestors have known and understood the energies that lie within crystals for longer than most understand. This artist uses her energy to fuse the crystals into a variety of wires and techniques in hopes to radiate the energy from these ancient treasures into your everyday life. Her fascination with hand picked crystals stems from her enchantment with Mother Earth and beauty. Ancient practices meets modern jewelry with her crystals. Bobby Fox – is a Floridian jewelry designer. His work has been shown in many local fashion shows and editorials. In 2015 he collaborated with Project Runway designer Gunnar Death rage on his "Bird Lady" collection, which toured the US. His love for the arts and all forms of expression have caused him to explore a variety of media, though metal working and jewelry design are by far his most beloved obsession. His involvement in the Gainesville Art Community has helped many local artists find platforms for their work. Preston Stern - Preston is a local Gainesville artistic and functional glassblower specializing in borosilicate flame-working. He is well known for his beautiful hand blown glass-sculptures, jewelry, and marbles.
