24 Hour Cycling Challenge
myTEAM TRIUMPH - Wisconsin Chapter – Let's race! Join us for this fun team challenge for a competitive and fun cycling indoor event to support Team Jacob as they take on the 2018 Boston Marathon!!! This event is a 24-hour team cycling event on the Computrainers at McWilliams training. Hook up your bike to our trainers for a virtual ride with all the ups and downs that we love outdoor. Riders will be able to compete on a screen against other riders. We will have some bikes available for those in need, but please contact us prior to reserve. We will accept 8 teams to complete for 24 hours to see which team can ride the most miles. Each team can field 4-24 riders. The event starts on Friday at 5pm and finishes at 5pm on Saturday. Each hour will feature a 45 minute ride . The rider for the next hour must arrive and set up 15 minutes before their hour starts. Each hour we will add mileage covered to your team's overall distance. There will be three 2 hour blocks for those that want ride long! January 19th 8-9:45pm January 20th 5-6:45pm January 20th 3-5pm Prizes: The top team that ride the furthest in 24 hours will receive a Complimentary Pizza Party at Greystone Ale House! Course info: Each hour will be a different course! Some will be more flat, others will be very hilly. You never know! Challenges: during each hour, riders can challenge members of other teams by making a $10 donation. The person challenged can pass by making a counter donation of $20. Here are some of the challenges from last year; Single leg pedaling Blind fold (won't be able to see what's next on the road Single speed (no shifting allowed) "The Fixie" (no shifting allowed) Maintain 60 rpm cadence Maintain 100 rpm cadence 25 pushups 3 bonus miles Fan on you only Penalty box for 2 minutes (no pedaling) Out of the saddle for 5 minutes Pick a song Pick a course Make one up! How to sign up Team sign up is preferred and will be offered first. Sign your whole team up for the 24 hours. Enter your team name in the custom field. Organize your team based on who will ride and what time(s). Individual sign up will open on December 28th. Sign up on the event page and choose your desired time(s). You will be assigned to one based on your desired time and what is available. Cost per team will be $360 cost per hour is $15. Payment will be accepted at the door via cash, check or credit card. You must have a minimum of 4 riders and a maximum of 24 riders. Come 15-20 minutes before your scheduled start time and prepare for set up. Phil Sealy: A Retrospective - Member's Reception
The Trout Museum of Art – The Trout Museum of Art is honored to hold a retrospective exhibit of works by Philip J. Sealy, one of the Fox Cities most accomplished and celebrated watercolor artists. Now in his nineties, Sealy has been refining the mastery of watercolor for more than 60 years. Please join us for a Member's Reception on Friday, January 19 from 5:30-7:00pm. Yoga, Kids and Canvas, Family Practice! January 20
Bay Area Yoga Center – Share your love of yoga with your family! Through partner poses and fun yoga games, this class will give you the tools to cultivate mindfulness, focus and tranquility that you and your child can use in everyday life. Children and adults together will interact in this class designed for fun and exploration. We will start the class with yoga movements, breath and relaxation. Class will end with a fun art project that the kids will be taking home with them. All are welcome to attend. No experience is necessary. $5 per person fee. Adult must accompany all children. Free Studio Introduction!
Jenstar Movement Studio – Many people feel fear in trying something new, so much so that sometimes they don't try at all! I see this all to often when talking to people who are unsure of what to expect in a class... If you have ever thought about attending a class at Jenstar, now is the perfect time to join us. Don't let fear hold you back, we are here to support and educate. We are inviting community members ages 18+ (free of charge!) into the studio to give you a taste of some of the classes we offer. Join us on Saturday, January 20th from 12-2:15pm. We will give an introduction to the space and who we are, and then do three basic mini classes with Q + A in between each! You will do 20 minutes of dance, followed by 20 minutes of barre, and then 20 minutes of yoga. This introduction is FREE! Attendee's must sign-up in advance to reserve space. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat (if you have one) and water. For dance, you are welcome to go barefoot or bring clean shoes to move in. Meyer Theatre – Join us to crown our new Miss Green Bay Area and Miss Green Bay Area’s Outstanding Teen on January 20th at the Meyer Theatre. The Miss Green Bay Area Scholarship Pageant provides opportunities for women to make a difference in their community and promote a platform they believe in. This program helps women to develop professional skills and their futures, while providing scholarship money to further their education. The Outstanding Teen Pageant encourages positive achievement while helping to nurture and build the scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living, and community involvement of our youth. With competitions in academics, community service, fitness, talent, and interview, the Miss America Preliminary Pageants give contestants skills and confidence to shine in other areas of life including job interview and performance, leadership, and personal health.
