Falls Prevention Awareness Day Planning Meeting
Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association (PPTA) – Greetings fellow PPTA members, Just a friendly reminder that I hope you will register and attend the next ConnectPA webinar, which will occur this Tuesday July 25th from 7:30-8:30 PM. The focus of the meeting will be a facilitated resource review, discussion, and planning session for PPTA Falls Prevention Awareness Day efforts. Falls Prevention Awareness Day (FPAD) occurs each year officially on the first day of Fall, and is a national effort to raise awareness, advocate, educate, and empower at risk Americans to manage their risk and prevent falls. The negative impact of falls across the nation is compelling, and Pennsylvania is no exception. Of course, physical therapy professionals need to be on the front line in these efforts, as we are uniquely positioned to impact this public health epidemic for older adults and the disabled in a meaningful way. We are aiming to build on last year’s successes. During the meeting I will review the PPTA FPAD resource toolkit and offer explanation, guidance, and support for use of tools. The goal is to inspire everyone that it is both necessary and feasible to participate meaningfully in this important effort. Please join me! If you are able to participate, please register on the following link: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/258609912973372417 After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
