The North Face Endurance Challenge - California
The North Face Endurance Challenge Series – The North Face Endurance Challenge returns to the Bay Area. Located in the visually stunning Marin Headlands, The North Face Endurance Challenge Championship course engages runners with both scenic views and drastic elevation change. You won't want to miss out on this trail running event that draws participants ranging from first time racers to elite runners. New for 2017: 50 Mile, 50K, Marathon and Half Marathon runners will start at a new location in Marin and follow a similar course routes as in previous years before making their way across the Golden Gate Bridge to the new Finish Line Festival at Crissy Field. The Marathon Relay, 10K and 5K will start in Crissy field and follow a newly designed course through the Presidio before finishing back at Crissy field. Richardson Bike Mart – Join the women of Richardson Bike Mart at our Dallas location for a monthly women's road ride. This is a great opportunity to ride in a friendly atmosphere and meet new friends! Pre-ride meeting at 8:15 am Wheels ROLL at 8:30 am Mileage options: These will be NO-DROP RIDES (the group will stay together, and nobody will be left behind). PLEASE PICK THE APPROPRIATE RIDE FOR YOUR SKILL LEVEL! We are going to ride collectively this month on a tour of the new "loop" of trails that are connected by the Mockingbird bridge. We'll also swing by the upcoming Richardson Bike Mart - Victory Park. What to bring: a breakfast prepped tummy bicycle helmet (required) closed toe shoes water and nutrition personal ID sunglasses flat repair kit money for snacks/brunch Please park in the lot across the street (Oldgate Ln.) from the shop. Strong Fitness Dallas – The goal of this weightlifting only camp is three-fold: Give the attendee an above average understanding of the major concepts of the Olympic lifts and the capacity to see, understand, and repair their own mistakes and the mistakes of others. Help attendees comprehend and gain knowledge of the foundational principles surrounding the lifts starting at the basic level and moving to very complex including but not limited to biomechanic advantages and disadvantages to certain start positions, best practices for lifting based on body segment lengths, and core principles that every lifter must be taught and understand at the very beginning. Eyes on coaching under load in which the attendee will gain immediate feedback and have the ability to see the coach spot and fix common errors in lifting groups. *There will be a 15 athlete limit*

Coppell Parks & Recreation Department – We’re turning things way up this fall in Coppell! The 2017 Artisan Craft Market is an excellent place to start your Christmas shopping or find a special gift! We’re rearranging the layout, amping up the hands-on activities and catering to the kids and gents. There will be a special area just for the little ones with holiday coloring sheets and fun hands-on holiday creations; perfect to take home to include in your holiday decoration. For the grown-up kids/guys who come to the show, we’re creating a lounge where dudes can kick back while gals continue to shop. New to the CSC Artisan Craft Market, and special for the DIY lovers will be a hand lettering and a greeting card workshop. Nov. Meeting, Conference, & Auction
North Texas Blacksmith Association – Our monthly meeting will also be this Saturday (3rd Saturday) instead of the usual second. The meeting will be cover the club charter and discuss the day's events as well as upcoming events moving towards 2018. Everyone is encouraged to stay after the meeting to attend the Mark Aspery demo. There may be some open forging going on if time permits. Mark Aspery will be doing a demonstration at the Blacksmith Shop in Grapevine. He will showcase the skills and trade of the blacksmith. Cost to attend demo is $25. Students of Kelly Kring (Brookhaven students), please see Kelly about your attendance tickets. An auction will be held afterwards with many of the late Larry Urban's Legacy Tools & Equipment. His final wish before passing was to make sure his tools find a good home at a fair price. All proceeds will go to NTBA to help purchase a much needed trailer to haul our equipment for meetings and workshop events. Please feel free to bring something to donate to the auction.
