Brevard Rocks! Painting Meetup and Charity Fundraiser.
Get Your Fun On – Hey, for all of you that participate in "Brevard Rocks" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/BrevardRocksFL) or want to know more about it, here is the perfect opportunity for you. Get Your Fun On and Famous Faces and Funnies will be hosting an event at which you can paint rocks, socialize, and even get in a board game or two. We will be providing rocks, paint, and brushes. There is no set fee. This is a fundraiser so we ask that you have fun and give what you can. Every penny given will go to buy gas cards which will be given to Gene Ledford to provide transportation to and from the hospital for his son. Gene's son Caleb came home from a day at the lake with friends with "bruised ribs" on Saturday, July 8th. Long story short, Tuesday's trip to the clinic, then ER resulted in finding the rib had been broken, punctured his pulmonary sac, filling it with 700cc of blood and partially collapsing the lung. The surgery on Wednesday revealed that the rib broke due to being compromised by bone cancer and large tumor on the ribs. On July 13th, Caleb turned 15 and had a chemo port put in. He is facing 48 weeks of treatments on a 2 week cycle. One week is a quick trip but the other involves a 5 day hospital stay. So he will be spending 5 out of 14 days in the hospital for almost the next year. The doctors are very optimistic about his treatment and have called the boating incident a blessing which allowed them to catch the cancer in time for full recovery. We are looking forward to a fun day and hope to see you there. We'll be hosting raffles for some cool games and awesome art by local artist Tina Morgan!
