MJC Speech Night
Modesto Junior College Arts – The MJC Forensics team (AKA Speech and Debate) is an award winning and nationally ranked program that travels and competes in local, statewide, and national tournaments. Students in our program compete in a variety of events ranging from platform speeches, oral interpretation, to debate. Join us for two session on Tuesday, September 26th at 4pm or 7pm Tickets are only $5 if purchased in advance or $8 on the Day-Of. To learn more about the events we compete in check out the events section of this site for descriptions and examples of what some of our students have done. There is NO audition process or tryouts. Anyone interested in joining the class is able to. During our twice a week class meetings and outside practices, you will gain the skills and experiences needed to excel as an orator. The speech and debate program at MJC provides a great chance to enhance your skills as an actor, debater, or public speaker. To join the team simply sign up for COMM 105 (Intercollegiate Forensics ) on PiratesNet. The class is worth 3 units and can be repeated up to 4 times. Central California Art Association & The Mistlin Gallery – Recognized as the Mother of American Modernism, American icon, Georgia O’Keeffe, was best known for her paintings of enlarged flowers, cityscapes, and the New Mexican landscape. We’ll talk about her life and work and then create our own watercolor “Great American Landscape", inspired by the Southwest. Kids Indoor Obstacle Course Challenge

Peter Cetera Live at the Gallo Center
Gallo Center for The Arts – “Grammy Award” winning singer/songwriter, Peter Cetera has had two distinct musical careers. From 1968 thru 1986 Peter was the singer, songwriter, and bass player for the legendary rock group Chicago. 10th Anniversary Community Open House
Gallo Center for The Arts – Join us for this free event! As part of its 10th-anniversary celebration, the Gallo Center is hosting a community open house and dessert reception for the public on Saturday, September 30, 2017. The event takes place from 11 am-2 pm in the Marie Damrell Gallo Grand Lobby, and will include live entertainment, light refreshments, backstage tours of the facility, and a raffle. There is no admission charge. The first 100 guests to arrive will receive a commemorative souvenir marking the Center’s 10th anniversary, too! (Limit of one souvenir gift per family.)
