UCF Library – Screening and Discussion of Miss Representation, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm “Miss Representation” explores the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America, and challenges the media’s limited portrayal of what it means to be a powerful woman. The film will be followed by a discussion facilitated by Dr. Anne Bubriski-McKinzie, Women and Gender Studies. Popcorn will be provided by UCF Libraries. Zine Workshop, 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm zine (noun): a noncommercial often homemade or online publication usually devoted to specialized and often unconventional subject matter. Learn to inspire and transform at our zine workshop by creating your own page as part of the group zine created by the participants of the workshop, and view our special collection made by UCF students. Everyone will get a black & white copy of the completed group zine.

Safe Mobility for Life Coalition – What is CarFit for the older drivers? CarFit is an educational program that offers older adults the opportunity to check how well their personal vehicles "fit" them. The CarFit program also provides information and materials on community-specific resources that could enhance their safety as drivers, and/or increase their mobility in the community. How is a CarFit check completed? At a CarFit event, a team of trained technicians and/or health professionals work with each participant to ensure they "fit" their vehicle properly for maximum comfort and safety. Raglan Road Orlando – The ‘Brilliant’ Maguires will be performing at Raglan Road now until April 3rd. They received rave reviews for their performances at our Mighty St. Patrick's Festival and we are thrilled to have them performing on our Patio stage for the next two weeks. They’re classically trained young traditional Irish musicians with a passion and flair that comes with years of cultural immersion. The Maguires, hailing from Ireland’s County Wicklow, include Emma, 17, on fiddle, flute and whistle; Aoife, 15, on concertina and uilleann pipes; Sean, 12, on bodhrán; and their dad, Philip, on guitar. You’ll won’t want to miss The Maguires’ infectious repertoire of traditional favorites and modern tunes with syncopated rhythms. Dubbed “brilliant” by IrishCentral and “insanely awesome” by Milwaukee Irish Fest, the family band will bring their top game to entertain Raglan Road’s audience. The band has played live on The Ray D’Arcy Show, a prime-time Saturday night national TV show drawing half a million viewers and made their northern U.S. debut last summer.

Opening Reception: "Enduring Beauty: Seminole Art and Culture"
Orlando Museum of Art – The Orlando Museum of Art is pleased to present "Enduring Beauty: Seminole Art and Culture," an exhibition drawn from the collection of I.S.K. “Keith” Reeves V and Sara W. Reeves, considered to be the largest private collection of Florida Seminole material. "Enduring Beauty" celebrates Seminole culture with works of art, adornment and domestic crafts dating from the early 19th century to the mid-20th century. These objects are not only beautiful and significant, they are expressions of the Seminole’s extraordinary history as the Native American people of Florida. Included in the exhibition are an embroidered and beaded bandolier bag; men’s big shirts, women’s and children’s clothing all decorated with appliqué, embroidery and patchwork motifs; beaded necklaces; woven baskets and costumed dolls. Accompanying these objects are historic paintings, prints and photographs that document important individuals, families and the Seminole way of life during the past two centuries. Walking the Labyrinth Session
The Mystic Grove at First Unitarian Church of Orlando – When Thursday Night Meditation ended after a wonderful 17 years, many wondered if we might have something to replace it. Several ideas have been considered. While we continue to ponder possibilities, we are making a commitment from February through June. The second Thursday of each month, Rev. Kathy will lead a Mindfulness Meditation session from 7:00-8:00 pm. On the fourth Thursday of each month, again from 7:00-8:00 pm, Rev. Kathy, with support from Mystic Grove, will lead a Walking the Labyrinth session. We will be reaching out to the community and inviting those unfamiliar with labyrinth practice for an introduction as we welcome those who are familiar to an opportunity to practice with a group.
