Summer Camp: Girls Camp Challenger - Grades 6 to 8
Scobee Education Center – Empowering young women to be leaders in STEM For girls entering 6th - 8th grade Camp Programs begin at 8:30am to 4:00pm Challenger girls will learn strategies to successfully and confidently enter STEM fields by engaging in STEM activities. These young women will be empowered by completing engineering design challenges using LEGO robotics, iPad technology coding activities and augmented reality to explore challenges on the International Space Station. Through problem solving, communication, collaboration, teamwork and competition, the girls will further develop their confidence and leadership skills. Guest speakers will provide opportunities for Challenger girls to interact with professionals in STEM careers and investigate careers in engineering, physics, astronomy and geology. Challenger girls will also learn how to use technology & social media effectively and safely to network and connect with mentors and role models. The Challenger experience will also include a Challenger Center Mission and Planetarium programs in Scobee planetarium. This camp includes the all Girls STEM Summit on July 28th. Register your child now through April 7th for the Girls Camp Challenger Camp and receive a $50 early bird discount! Each child must be registered separately. Campers must pack their own lunch. Morning and afternoon snacks provided. After camp care until 5:30 p.m. - $100/week or $20/day
