Dress Down for $1
New World Educational Center – Each month we choose a day to dress out of uniform for $1 to help raise money for school Field Trips. This money is set aside to rent school buses and pay for any fees that are accrued by the trip. Please support this day and give for a wonderful cause! You can even give extra money if you wish. :) Thank you in advance! Cada mes escogemos un dia donde los estudiantes puede usar ropa que no es parte del uniforme por $1. The Lunch Club: Rabbi John Linder
Hillel Jewish Student Center at ASU – This week we'll be joined by Rabbi John Linder, Rabbi at Temple Solel in Paradise Valley, who will share some thoughts in honor of Martin Luther King Day. Rabbi Linder grew up in Buffalo, New York and considers himself a lifelong Buffalo-booster. A 1980 Cum Laude graduate of Amherst College, Rabbi Linder became a rabbi at age 46 after earlier careers as a community and labor organizer and as an executive in his family’s scrap-metal recycling business in Buffalo. In 2013, Rabbi Linder laced up his hockey skates and represented the United States in the 2013 World Maccabiah Games. Linder previously played Division 3 hockey as a defenseman at Amherst College in Massachusetts.

Intro to Tai Chi 3 week
Desert Song Healing Arts Center – This 3-week class is designed for any new student to Yang Style Tai Chi or anyone who wants to learn the 24 Step Tai Chi Form that is taught in the Wednesday and Friday Tai Chi class. Focus is on stretching, balance techniques, flow of breath with the body, and all the hand and foot movements of Tai Chi. The first 3 steps will be taught, one step per week, of the 24 Step Form. One can be better prepare for the current day classes on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:15 a.m. after taking this Intro class. Wear toe sox (sticky bottom socks) or a very light-soled shoe. The class is performed standing, but the option is available to sit in a chair to rest when needed.
