Dr. Mojubaolu Olufunke Okome on African Migration
Howard University African Studies Department & Center for African Studies – Dr. Mojubaolu Olufunke Okome will join us in a conversation about African migration. Dr. Okome has done extensive research on African migration, including African migration to the U.S. and to Europe. She helped found Ìrìnkèrindò: a Journal of African Migration and Jenda: Journal of African Culture and Women Studies. She is well known for her research on African migration, including African migrants trying to cross into Europe via North Africa. The discussion will include a conversation about the current crisis of Africans attempting to go through Libya and North Africa to reach Europe. Dr. Mojubaolu Olufunke Okome is a Professor of Political Science at Brooklyn College, City University of New York.
