Halloween Basket Drive
Parents by Choice – Every year Parents by Choice provides a Halloween basket for each of our foster families. Typically the baskets include 1 candy bowl that holds all of the goodies, 1 carvable foam pumpkin, some bubbles, stickers, erasers, pencils, vampire teeth, spider rings, and of course candy and snacks. This year we would like your help! You can either buy some of the goodies yourself, donate money to help us purchase the goodies, or volunteer your time to help put the baskets together. If you purchase the goodies yourself, you can drop them off at the Parents by Choice Office at 2423 W. March Lane, Suite 200. To donate money, please visit www.ParentsbyChoice.net/Donate To volunteer, please e-mail Stephanie at stephanie@parentsbychoice.net

Transformative Climate Communities - Stockton Community Meeting
The Greenlining Institute – In 2016 the state passed AB 2722, creating the Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program. For this year, TCC is investing $140 million in three communities that have been most impacted by environmental and socioeconomic hazards. The funds go towards implementing neighborhood-level plans to improve climate and environmental conditions. It also has a goal to provide multiple benefits to disadvantaged communities. In addition to the $140 million in 3 communities, TCC is also investing an additional $1.5 million to help up to 10 communities access funding in future years. Stockton is in a good place to be a future community due to our high ranking on CalEnviroScreen. In our pinned post, you will find a map showing, in dark orange and red, areas of Stockton that rank in the top 25% of the state in CalEnviroScreen. If you are a community member living within those areas or are an individual that cares about improving conditions in that region, then we would like to invite you to our meeting to learn more about this program, brainstorm ideas of investments you want to see in your community that both improve the environment and also provide other benefits (health, social, workforce development, energy efficiency, etc.) This is a FREE event that is OPEN to the public. Dinner, refreshments, and childcare will be provided to attendees. More information can be found at: bit.ly/stockton-tcc
