The 5 Lies Business Owners Tell Themselves About Budgeting
eWomenNetwork Tucson – Overwhelm, stress, constant head banging… just a few of the things entrepreneurs go through while managing a business! In this talk, Phylecia addresses many of the reasons why business owners avoid budgeting and countering the lies with benefits from increased profits and less stress, to having a powerful financial team. Key takeaways include: What happens when money and numbers are ignored The positive effects of budgeting for business success Needing more than an accountant and bookkeeper Having a system for managing cash flow Importance of a personal salary .... Speaker Bio Phylecia Jones is an energetic and passionate budgeting nerd! She is the CFO and Founder of "Keep Up with Mrs. Jones" - where she is on a mission to change the lives of entrepreneurs, one budget at a time. Even though Phylecia had a life, that on paper, was deemed successful (a degree in Computer Science, Masters Degree in Systems Engineering, a civilian career with benefits, and a paycheck that most only dream about), she was running scared of her money. After spending like crazy, living a lifestyle she could not afford, and having very little money in the bank, Phylecia realized something had to change. Phylecia created a budgeting system that worked for her and things have never been the same since. Her smart money moves have allowed her to reach a near 7-figure personal net worth, ‘retire’ at the age of 36 years old and start a new chapter in her life. She now mentors solo-preneurs on being confident and smart with their money. In her down time, Phylecia loves to travel.
