Celebrate The Loop Grand Opening!
Southern Arizona Roadrunners – We're celebrating the completion of the final segment on The Loop, that makes The Loop, well, a loop! Pima County Parks & Rec's The Loop is hosting The Loop Completion Celebration - Brandi Fenton, an all-day shin-dig to celebrate, and we've been asked to bring what we do best - running! We'll start the celebration with a social run for all levels and all ages along the Rillito Path at 8:00 a.m. We'll be back in time for the opening events - a grand entry procession, food and fun! Check out the details for the full day celebration: This is a free run leaving from Brandi Fenton Park. We'll gather near the splash pad (look for the SAR red tent), do a quick warm-up and then head out to the path. Heading east, we'll have turn-arounds for 2, 4, and 6 (ish) mile runs. All runs are designed to get everyone back by 9:00 a.m., but feel free to keep running the whole loop if you want (54 miles). Ummm, wait a minute - if you want to run the whole Loop, you may need some planning! If you have a long run group on Saturday, plan on being at Brandi Fenton at 8:00 a.m. to run some miles with us! Feminist Learning & Liberation Conference
University of Arizona Women's Resource Center – A one-day conference to engage in feminist social justice topics such as gender, race, and class as well as some hands on workshops like art, bike mechanics & button making. Meet The Monument 2018
Pima County Public Library – The Friends of Ironwood Forest have set Saturday, March 17 for our annual “Meet the Monument” event. This gathering, free and open to the public, will be held again on the north side of iconic Ragged Top, approximately 20 miles west of Marana. The goal of this event is to be a learning experience featuring informational presentations and walkabouts by local naturalists specializing in the various facets of this land. Pasta and Gnocchi - Cooking Class
The Garden Kitchen – No need for a pasta machine to make delicious homemade pasta! Take our class to learn how to make pasta and gnocchi without a machine. Class menu will include hand rolled pasta, gnocchi, and sauces to accompany them. The class is 3 hours from 10 am to 1 pm and includes a light lunch. Class size is limited to 12 participants. Cost: $55.00 per person. All proceeds go to supporting free programming for low income audience at The Garden Kitchen. St. Patrick's Day 2018
Arizona Beer House – Join us along with Tucson Celtic Festival and Scottish Highland Games for St. Patrick's Day, Saturday, March 17, 2018. This free event will begin at noon and runs until midnight with food, fun, and games for the entire family! Bring the kids for face painting, live music, balloon twisting, and a huge 54' inflatable obstacle course, all at no charge! Entertainment includes Moonshine, Tucson Pipers, and the Tucson Celtic Hammerheads. We will also be having stein raises, contests, prizes, raffles, and maybe even some beer! 2nd Annual Pie Festival to Benefit Beads of Courage
Beads of Courage – It's the 2nd Annual Pie Festival Benefiting Beads of Courage! Have a piece of pie, sponsor a sweet bead for a Beads of Courage child, and make a St. Patrick's Day Courage Clip -- all at the Pie Festival! If you are interested in donating a pie and/or competing for Queen or King of the Pie Festival please contact our office at (520) 344-7668. Pies will be sold by the slice or you can buy a whole pie and eat it too! Funds raised from the Pie Festival will maintain the Barbara Eckhoff Memorial Fund at Beads of Courage. This fund helps Beads of Courage provide nurturing food and host Celebration of Courage events in children's hospitals throughout the United States for children coping with cancer and other serious illness. Barb was a hard-working and dedicated volunteer for Beads of Courage and the beloved oldest and legendary sister of Jean Gribbon, Founder of Beads of Courage. She loved to bake and nurture people through good food. Her memorial fund will maintain her legacy for years to come in caring for children coping with serious illness and their families.

Saint Patrick's Day Celebration
1912 Brewing Co – Happy St. Patrick's Day! Today's Celebration will include Irish music all day. Our 3rd Annual Employee Corned Beef competition which starts at 3pm. We will have between 3 to 6 different corned beefs to try, then vote for your favorite. Rancho Preciado will be serving up some mouth watering corned beef worthy of a pot of gold.
