Manatees & Mangroves - Spring Break Adventure
University of Tennessee Outdoor Program (UTOP) – Cost: $309 Registration Deadline: Fri. March 2nd. Pre-trip Meeting: There is a mandatory pre-trip meeting Tuesday, Feb 27th at 5:30 p.m. for an hour to discuss equipment, food, logistics, answer questions, and meet your new friends. Explore coastal Florida beaches Paddleboard and bike through mangroves to see manatees and dolphins. Try out surfing on famouns FL breaks. “Do you see them!? Did you see that!?” Kelly exclaims, nearly jumping up and down on her standup paddle board. “There are 2 manatees over there! I’ve never seen them before. That’s so cool.” Your group gathers up, cameras out, quieting down to watch them float gracefully around you. “This is, like, the coolest thing ever,” says James quietly, watching a baby nurse underneath its mom. The water is crystal clear, flowing out of Blue Spring, one of the many springs Florida is famous for. After spending the morning watching manatees from your paddleboard (SUP), your afternoon is spent learning to catch waves and standup paddleboard surf. As the sun sets over land, you carry your SUP through the dunes, heading back to camp, ready to chow down and rest. Tomorrow is an early morning beach yoga season, and for those that want it, another surf session with knee high waves, perfect for more SUP surf. The afternoon, paddling through mangroves, watching all the neo-tropical birds Who doesn’t want to go to the beach for spring break? The sun. The sand. The stand up surfing. The manatee (and dolphin) watching. You’ll lounge on the beach some, but this spring break trip isn’t just about hanging out on a white sand beach. Camp in a beautiful Florida coastal forest, explore the salty estuary on your paddleboard and learn to stand up paddleboard surf at the famous Florida beach break of Sebastian Beach Inlet. Nights are spent under the stars, cooking (with help from Trey and Melanie) the best meals you’ve had all semester. After dinner, curl up with hot chocolate around the campfire before crawling to your tent, dreaming of more. Our full-time professional staff member (Trey) and our GA (Melanie) will teach you everything you want to know about stand up paddleboarding (SUP), SUP surfing, and camping. This spring break trip gets you out to explore, play, and relax in the Atlantic Ocean and Indian River – warm water and air temperatures await.

Harper and Midwest Kind @ Earls Hideaway
Highway Key Touring – Harper and Midwest Kind Bring World Blues & Roots From Australia OFFICIAL HARPER WEBSITE 2pm HARPER AND MIDWEST KIND LIVE Show Your Love Its Time To Go, Big Brown Land/ Levee Breaks An amalgamation of blues, soul and world music, Australian singer/ songwriter "Peter D. Harper" now based in Detroit, creates a heady mix of roots music through his creative use of the harmonica, and the haunting drone of the didgeridoo. Harper possesses a powerful soulful voice and a deep, almost mystical approach to music that some might say has evolved into its own genre. Harper calls it “World Blues” -- a rich musical stew of ‘50s rhythm and blues, a ‘60s message of love and unity, and ‘70s funky soul, stirred up with masterful virtuoso harmonica and the deep, woody, percussive tones of the didgeridoo, served up in a feast of timeless mystery. Harper has received an amazing 14 x Blues/ World Music awards (including a Gold Record) in the USA, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. He recently won a Detroit Music Award for "Outstanding Vocalist". No Depression Magazine,'s (USA) Rod Ames, adds that Harper " has written and arranged some of the most soulful blues rock filled music I have ever heard..". While Chip Eagle, (Blues Revue) said at a recent festival "..Harper is the most exciting artist on the live scene today". Harper is backed by his talented Detroit based band "Midwest Kind" which features: Mike Howe on guitar, James Norris on Bass Guitar and Dee Washington on Drums. Harper has just released his new CD "Show Your Love" (Blu Harp). This incredible new CD reached # 3 internationally on the Billboard Blues Charts, only being beaten out by Eric Clapton and Joe Bonamassa, and an amazing six months in the Top Ten. Also # 1 in the Netherlands, # 1 in Italy and # 3 Debut on the Australian Blues Charts (Top 5 for 5 months)
