Caribbean Cartwheels Skill Camp (ages 6-12 years)
The Little Gym of Virginia Beach – Boys and Girls ages 6-12 years are invited to join us for our Skill Camp on Wednesday afternoon, July 26. During this 3 hour clinic, kids will have the opportunity to learn or perfect their cartwheel. Cartwheels are an important "gateway skill" that will lead to learning Round-Offs, 1 handed Cartwheels and even Aerials! We will be working on all variations of this skill for all skill levels. Virginia Beach City Government – Built in 1969, the current city hall requires major renovations that are complicated by the presence of friable asbestos and the way the electrical and mechanical systems were installed. Originally built to accommodate services for a city of about 300,000 residents, the City needs about 70,000 more square feet to accommodate employees and services for the nearly 500,000 residents it serves today. 757 Makerspace – Want to give a handmade gift, but are a little too old to be giving macaroni art? Come learn to crochet instead! During this class, we'll cover the basics - the starting chain, single and double crochet stitches, finishing off the piece, and how to fix basic errors - so that you can make a simple project like a scarf. We'll also discuss yarn fiber content and weight, crochet hook sizes, and how to change the drape of your crocheted fabric, so you can experiment with fiber art long after the class has ended. Shark Week Glow in the Park #2
The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium – Take a break from watching SHARK WEEK on The Discovery Channel and spend some time in the trees. We will be doing a raffle for tickets to the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center where you can see some of those great sharks featured during Shark Week.
