Southeast Regional Fine Art Exhibit
Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County – Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County is the host of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) Southeast Regional Fine Art Exhibit. Boys & Girls Clubs members throughout the southeast region of the United States created artwork that will be on display at the Norton Museum of Art. A team of judges will select artwork in four age groups and 18 categories to proceed to the national competition, where the winning pieces will be displayed at the BGCA national headquarters art gallery for one year. The winning artwork will also be professionally scanned and reproduced on stretch canvases to become part of a traveling art exhibit.

Surfrider Foundation - Palm Beach County Chapter – In January 2018, the Trump administration proposed a new offshore oil drilling plan that would open up nearly all U.S. water to offshore oil drilling, including he coast of Florida. This plan threatens our coastal ecosystems, economies, and way of life. JOIN US for Shore stories: six short films that highlight the grassroots resistance taking place across the U.S., as well as stories from past oil and gas exploration - including the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster. After the films, we'll discuss the proposal and how you can get involved in resisting offshore oil drilling in Florida.

Nights at the Museum "Fun with Steam"

This month's Planetarium show is a special Laser Light Show: "Legends of the Night Sky: Orion" at 6:30pm, 7:30pm, and 8:30pm. Orion takes a lighthearted and imaginative look at the myths and stories associated with the constellation Orion, the great hunter of the winter sky. Accompanied by narrators Aesop the owl and Socrates the mouse, we follow Orion’s adventures as he grows to manhood, battles mythical beasts, foils the plot of an evil king, and wins the heart of Artemis, the beautiful moon-goddess. By the end of the story, we learn how the constellation Orion was placed in the sky, forever turning overhead throughout the seasons. Each Night at the Museum is a different theme, which includes various interactive science crafts, activities, entertainment, exhibits, planetarium shows and a chance to view the night sky in Palm Beach County’s only public observatory. Admission is $6 for members, $13.95 for adults, $11.95 for seniors, $9.95 for children 3-12, children under 3 are free. Tickets purchased at the door. PBA Symphony Concert 12th Annual International Piano Festival
Palm Beach Atlantic University: Music, Dance & Fine Arts – The PBA Symphony Concert III: 12th Annual International Piano Festival featuring concertos for two pianos will be held on Friday, Feb. 23 at the DeSantis Family Chapel at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by: Steinway Piano Gallery and Foundation Bell'Arte Tickets can be purchased online or by contacting Ticket Central by email or phone between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday-Friday. The annual PBA International Piano Festival has been hailed as one of the most exciting musical events on campus each season. Performers from across the globe come to campus to participate in the International Certificate for Piano Artists (ICPA), which is designed for a limited number of high-level pianists who wish to perfect their art. Students attend ICPA classes with famed professor Nelson Delle Vigne Fabbri and others. These artists are featured in serveral performances during the week culminating in a performance of piano concertos accompanied by orchestra. Although the concerts are impressive and exciting, the opportunity to attend the daily master classes, free-of-charge, is one of the most inspiring parts of the weeks.
