Ratboys & Team Tremolo at Barleycorn's
Barleycorn's – Ratboys - http://www.ratboysband.com/ Hailing from Chicago's south suburbs and Louisville, then South Bend and now the city of Chicago, the members of Ratboys have no qualms scurrying through the streets to meet up and make music. Working from the catchy and conversational base material of front-woman Julia Steiner, the indie-folk foursome whirls through live sets with the punch of a punk band but with the calm candor of someone you know will always have your back. The folks in Ratboys find themselves addicted to the sensation of quiet growing into something bigger, and they can't wait to welcome you into it. Team Tremolo - https://teamtremolo.bandcamp.com Spanning across a range of moods from major and airy to dissonant and devilish, Team Tremolo’s debut EP, Intruder, showcases emotionally charged compositions that transport listeners to a place where My Bloody Valentine and Ride swap shoes with Failure and A Perfect Circle. The combined effort of guitarist/drummer William Erickson, guitarist Kristyn Chapman, bassist Caleb Drummond, and vocalist Jenny Wood creates a distinctive musical identity informed by the ethereal tendencies of Kate Bush, the hazy, dejected state of grunge, and the dynamic space apparent in peak-era Sonic Youth. Recorded at Air House Studios in Wichita alongside veteran engineer Micajah Ryan (Bob Dylan, Megadeth, Guns N’ Roses) and Air House founder David Lord, the album exemplifies the intersection between alt-rock and shoegaze, blending pop sensibility with crushing, wall-of-sound atmospherics. Jenny Wood (vox), William(guitar), Kristyn (guitar), Caleb (bass). $8 ADV/ $10 DOS

Sidewalks And Skeletons/// MXMS/// Tennis System/// Panic Priest
Barleycorn's – DeadBeat Klub presents: SIDEWALKS AND SKELETONS MXMS TENNIS SYSTEM PANIC PRIEST $10 THIS LINE-UP IS SO FRESH TO DEATH, YOU'RE NOT GONNA WANNA MISS IT!!! SIDEWALKS AND SKELETONS is Jake Lee, a young artists based in the UK. Self-taught and obsessed with music, also one who learns by ear, he began playing guitar in Metal bands. After developing a connection with dark electronic music he began his own experimentation. When it comes to witch house, few artists take it to the full length to make it their own sound, something much more than just the genre. Sidewalks and Skeletons have successfully accomplished this, breeding a sense of melancholy and bittersweet acceptance, each track strumming a different heartstring, in superb quality and production. MXMS short for "me and my shadow", is the multimedia project of singer Ariel Levitan and pianist Jeremy Dawson(of Shiny Toy Guns). The two met in Los angeles after Ariel moved from New York City in the late summer of 2013. Harbored feelings and trauma each had hidden away for a lifetime floated to the surface in Jeremy's studio they lovingly refer to as "the grave"…. Each story, each moment in their lives they recorded into a lyric, a song, into a vision. Starting with the song"omg", their dual documented story of a violent, toxic life was born. Tennis System Los Angeles transplants Tennis System once had a reputation for shutting down shows with their relentless wall of noise. Fast-forward two years, and fans are flocking to their noisy, dreamy pop – think remnants of Nirvana and the Jesus and Mary Chain, with hints of the romanticism that makes Wavves and Best Coast so addictive. Panic Priest Death, sex and doomed romance. Panic Priest is the Chicago based project showcasing the songs of singer / songwriter / multi instrumentalist Jack Armondo (My Gold Mask). A combination of self produced home recording and in-studio polish, aided and abetted on record by friends and guest musicians alike. Centered around Jack's deep crooning vocals while weaving together dream-like guitars and synths, Panic Priest creates midnight melodies that won't soon leave your memory once dawn breaks. Panic Priest was recently signed to Negative Gain and will see the release of the debut self-titled full length come Spring 2018.
